In keeping with the mission of the Skirball Cultural Center to welcome and inspire people of every ethnic and cultural identity, SkirBlog seeks to share stories about the people, programs, and plans of the Skirball as a way to connect individuals, generations, communities, and cultures in Los Angeles and beyond. Written by staff, volunteers, docents, and special guests, the blog is especially designed to offer behind-the-scenes perspectives on the Skirball’s activities and initiatives, illuminate both everyday and extraordinary moments at the Skirball, and engage readers more deeply in the ideas and ideals at the heart of the Skirball mission.
Submit Your Idea
Want to share your Skirball story? Here’s a chance to jog your imagination. SkirBlog welcomes ideas for future posts about what you saw, heard, felt, laughed at, cried over, created, celebrated, and reflected upon during and after your visit.
Maybe you spotted a Noah’s Ark puppet and it sparked you to handcraft origami animals using an unexpected material. Or you left here with a tune you got in your head while at a concert so you went home and wrote a song on drums and tuba. Or you were swimming one day and all of a sudden you remembered the epiphany you had while exploring our galleries. We’ve love to hear about it.
Prose and poetry, photos and drawings, stills and video—all forms of expression are welcome! E-mail your idea to firstname.lastname@example.org and our editorial team will select the best submissions for publication.
